We’re looking forward to introducing you to Justin Isaac. Check out our conversation below.

Justin, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
Recently, we were nominated for the best estate planning attorney in San Diego for the second year in a row by San Diego Magazine. This made me feel very proud because there are so many good attorneys out there who do great work and I was so honored to stand out and be recognized for the second year in a row by the readers of the magazine!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Justin Isaac with the Lawyer in Blue Jeans Group and I am an estate planning attorney servicing clients in all of California, but more specifically San Diego. I’m a frequent contributor on KUSI in San Diego as a general legal analyst, but my firm focuses solely on estate planning and probate. Our office attire is generally in blue jeans (unless we have a court call) and our persona is very laid-back and blue jeans-ey as well. We strive to make sure clients are comfortable discussing an inherently uncomfortable topic, planning on how to protect your assets upon death. We are honored to say that we were voted best estate planning attorney by the San Diego Union Tribune in 2024 and by San Diego magazine for 2024 and 2025.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who taught you the most about work?
Work and work ethic were definitely demonstrated to me by my father. Being a small business owner, you never really get to fully rest because so many people in the office rely on you!

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Giving up was never really an option, but taking the bar in the state of California is quite an endeavor! It is something you have to dedicate your entire life to and practice for, and there’s still a good chance you won’t pass! The feeling that you get when you overcome this obstacle and do pass the bar, it is something that cannot be put into words how great it feels and important it is!

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
They would probably say that Family and close friends are the most important thing to me! I have a large family and I would do anything for them or anything for anyone that I truly care about! I am lucky to have a great group of friends as well that I’ve known for 20 or more years and I treat them like family.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
I would probably stop checking my phone so often! And I would most definitely not worry about social media!
