Jim Cunningham, Attorney at Law
Jim Cunningham is an attorney with The Lawyer in Blue Jeans Group and practices in the areas of estate planning, tax, business planning, probate, and trust administration. Mr. Cunningham received his Juris Doctor (J.D.) Degree from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law with a concentration in Tax.
Mr. Cunningham works closely with his clients designing and implementing a variety of tax, business and estate planning strategies. He has worked extensively with the estate and gift tax laws and is well versed in the techniques which are available to minimize the harsh impact of those taxes.
In the areas of Wealth Preservation and Wealth Transfer Planning, Mr. Cunningham’s work ranges from basic planning for the management and transfer of family wealth (such as the design and drafting of Wills and Living Trusts) to more advanced planning techniques using Family Partnerships, Irrevocable Gift Trusts, Charitable Trusts, and other such instruments for the preservation, management, and transfer of wealth.
In the area of Business Planning, Mr. Cunningham counsels owners of closely held businesses on tax advantaged strategies to further their business transactions. His work in this area includes business entity selection and formation, acquisitions and sales, reorganizations (e.g., mergers and spit-ups), buy-sell agreements and related transactions.
Ana Audelo, Lead Paralegal
Ana Audelo attended the University of San Diego and obtained her ABA approved Paralegal Certificate in Business Practices. She has been with the Lawyer in Blue Jeans Group since 2010 when she started as an Administrative Assistant. She has since moved into a Paralegal position drafting Wills, Trusts and other Estate Planning documents. She works directly with our attorneys and clients ensuring our documents are customized according to our client’s specific needs and wishes.
Ana has volunteered for many worthwhile causes including the San Diego Rock N’ Roll Marathon for Leukemia and Lymphoma, Father Joe’s Villages and The Epilepsy Foundation of San Diego County. Outside of work she enjoys gardening, reading, supporting the Chargers and loves spending time with her son Samuel.
Thania Cuevas, Office Administrator
As Office Administrator, Thania over views all office functions with an ultimate goal of guaranteeing our customers’ full satisfaction. She is thoroughly involved in the production of our Seminars and other office activities.
Thania graduated from San Diego State University with a double B.A. in Economics and Spanish and interned with the San Diego County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
Outside of the office Thania enjoys traveling, going to concerts and listening to music.
Amanda Aziz, Paralegal
Amanda joined the Lawyer in Blue Jeans Group in 2014 as Office Administrator, and has since become a paralegal. She works directly with the attorneys and the staff processing trusts to ensure that clients have the best estate plan for their family. Amanda graduated from San Diego State University in 2009 with a Bachelors in Criminal Justice and minor in Political Science. Soon after, she attended University of San Diego and obtained her ABA approved Paralegal Certificate in General Practices. Prior to working at the Lawyer in Blue Jeans Group, she was the head paralegal at Law Offices of Ron Mix specializing in Workers Compensation for retired athletes, and also interned with the Alternate Public Defenders office in El Cajon.
Outside of work, Amanda enjoys reading, journaling, going to the beach, photography, and smiling!
Jennifer Dean, Paralegal
Jennifer joined the Lawyer in Blue Jeans Group in March as a paralegal. She works with the attorneys and staff to process trust documents and to ensure that clients have the best estate plan for their individual needs. Jennifer also meets with clients to go over their estate plan, and notarizes their finalized documents.
Prior to joining the Lawyer in Blue Jeans team, Jennifer worked as a paralegal; first in family law, then in bankruptcy, and most recently in estate planning, trust administration and probate. She received her Bachelor of Arts in History at Lee University, in Cleveland, TN, and then went on to earn her ABA approved paralegal certificate at the University of California at Santa Barbara. She is currently in law school at California Western School of Law, serving as Vice President of the Estate Planning Society, and hopes to go into estate planning upon graduation.
In her free time, Jennifer enjoys board-gaming with her husband, reading sci-fi, and taking long walks through her neighborhood with their dog, Clara. She also enjoys serving at her church in various capacities, including singing on the worship team, and serving as Director of Women’s Ministries.
Evan Garcia, Administrative Assistant
Evan Garcia is an administrative assistant of the Lawyer in Blue Jeans Group. Evan is generally the first and last contact for clients in the office. He serves as a liaison between clients, attorneys, and paralegals by scheduling appointments, answering questions about the office and general overall assistance to make coming to the Lawyer in Blue Jeans Group a comfortable and enjoyable experience. Evan also meets with clients to go over their estate plan, as well as notarizing documents.
Prior to working at the Lawyer in Blue Jeans Group, he was employed part time by the United Parcel Service (UPS) and part time by a local attorney at law, where he obtained some knowledge of estate planning.
Evan has an A.S. in Criminal Justice from Grossmont College in addition to being a certified loan signer and notary public. Evan is continuing his education and hopes to obtain his paralegal certificate in the near future.
Outside of the office, Evan likes to go to the beach, hike, cook/bbq, and have fun as a newlywed!
